Pay-per-click

With pay-per-click, you only pay for visitors, meaning you only pay when someone actually clicks on your listing. This guarantees visits. The engines provide one of the most effective ways to drive targeted people to your site. Usually, a good ranking with a decent keyword costs only one to two cents per click. This is a good technique to increase traffic and profit. You should use relevant terms to bring the best possible traffic. You should also bid on as many low-cost relevant terms as you can. Many pay-per-click search engines provide you with the ability to directly link to the relevant page of your site; meaning that you are giving the searcher precisely what he or she is looking for.

When using pay per click search engines you are only paying for actual visitors rather than views of your listing. Being listed in the top 1-3 positions is not completely the best strategy because the quality of people who click on top listings might not be of the highest standard. If someone clicked through on a site ranked 9th once they had briefly scanned through most of the other descriptions, they would be a much higher quality visitor because they had searched for exactly what they wanted and are genuinely interested in that site.
